Official Visit and Diplomatic Milestone
Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone will visit Singapore for a one-day trip on July 9, at the invitation of Prime Minister Lawrence Wong. This visit marks Dr. Sonexay’s first official trip to Singapore since taking office in December 2022 and commemorates the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Singapore and Laos, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Ceremonial Welcome and Delegation
The Laotian leader will be accompanied by ministers and senior officials from his country. Prime Minister Wong will host a ceremonial welcome for Dr. Sonexay at Parliament House.
