Special Ticketing for Elderly and Disabled Attendees
In anticipation of Pope Francis’ historic mass in Singapore on September 12, special ticketing provisions have been made for elderly and wheelchair users. The Archdiocese of Singapore has outlined that each parish has a limited allocation of seats specifically for the elderly and individuals with disabilities, ensuring that all attendees can participate in this significant event comfortably.
Registration and Eligibility
To apply for these special tickets, attendees need to register with their local parish. Those requiring wheelchair access must present a valid Person-with-Disability (PWD) card. For individuals without a PWD card, a medical certificate confirming their disability will suffice. This inclusive approach ensures that support is tailored to meet the needs of all parishioners wishing to attend.
Additional Support for Caregivers
Recognizing the importance of support for those with limited mobility, the Archdiocese has also made provisions for caregivers. Each ticket holder from the elderly and disabled categories can be accompanied by a caregiver, who will assist with wheelchair maneuvering and other necessary care throughout the event.
Decision Making and Parish Involvement
Parishes play a crucial role in the allocation of these special tickets, with the final decision resting with them. This process not only decentralizes the distribution but also allows for a more personalized and considerate handling of individual needs.
