More Than 20 Children Feared Dead After School Bus Crashes and Catches Fire in Thailand
A school bus carrying dozens of primary school children has crashed and caught fire near the Thai capital, Bangkok. The tragic accident has left over 20 children feared dead, with 22 pupils and three teachers still unaccounted for, according to Thailand’s transport minister.
Survivors Escape, But Many Remain Missing
Sixteen children and three teachers managed to escape the burning bus, but officials have confirmed the discovery of ten bodies inside the wreckage. Rescue workers have been unable to access the vehicle due to intense heat, preventing further search efforts.
Tire Burst Leads to Deadly Crash
The accident occurred when the bus, one of three transporting children and teachers from a school field trip in Uthai Thani, experienced a tire blowout. The burst tire sent the vehicle crashing into a highway barrier before it caught fire, completely destroying the bus.
