Fire in Redhill HDB Block Forces Evacuation of 50 Residents
Fifty residents were evacuated on the evening of September 23 after a fire broke out in a Housing Board (HDB) block in Redhill. The fire involved construction materials stored in a room on the ground floor of the block, prompting swift action by emergency services.
Evacuation of Residents by Police and SCDF
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and police officers evacuated approximately 50 residents from the second and third floors of the building as a precautionary measure. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.
Investigation Underway to Determine Cause
The SCDF has confirmed that the cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Despite the fire being contained, authorities are looking into the circumstances surrounding the blaze to prevent future incidents.
