Israel Launches Fresh Strikes on Hezbollah Targets in Southern Lebanon
The Israeli military has initiated a new round of strikes on Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon, focusing on what it describes as “terror targets.” The strikes come after a series of warnings were issued to Lebanese citizens, advising them to evacuate areas where the militant group is allegedly storing weapons.
Evacuation Warnings Sent Across Lebanon
Earlier on Monday, residents in Beirut and other parts of Lebanon received evacuation orders via text messages and recorded voice messages from the Israeli military. Among those receiving the warnings was Lebanon’s minister of information, Ziad Makari, who confirmed receiving a call asking him to evacuate his building. The warnings were part of a broader strategy to minimize civilian casualties ahead of the strikes.
Israeli Military Confirms Strikes and Issues Safety Advisory
In a televised statement, Israeli military spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari confirmed the ongoing strikes and urged Lebanese residents living near Hezbollah-controlled buildings to evacuate immediately. “We call on everyone who is near properties or inside homes where Hezbollah is hiding weapons… distance yourselves from them immediately. This is for your safety and protection,” he stated.
Rising Tensions as Israel Intensifies Military Action
The escalation in military action comes as tensions between Israel and Hezbollah continue to rise. The ongoing conflict has led to increased airstrikes and the use of drones over Lebanese territory, further intensifying fears of a broader regional conflict.
