A fire broke out at the rooftop carpark of Golden Mile Tower on August 31, engulfing multiple vehicles and sending thick smoke billowing over Beach Road.
Fire Erupts at Rooftop Carpark
The fire, which involved several cars, caused significant smoke and alarm in the area. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) quickly responded to the scene and successfully extinguished the blaze using two water jets.
No Electric Vehicles Involved
Initial investigations by the SCDF revealed that none of the vehicles involved in the fire were electric vehicles, dispelling initial concerns that the blaze might have been related to electric vehicle batteries.
Evacuation and Medical Assessments
Approximately 45 people were evacuated from the building as a precaution. Three individuals were assessed for smoke inhalation at the scene, but all declined further medical treatment or transport to a hospital.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
