In preparation for the 2024 Formula One night race, several roads in the Marina Centre and Padang areas will be closed from September 18 to 24. The iconic race returns to Singapore on September 20.
Road Closures and Access Information
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) announced on August 26 that the road closures will begin at 12:01 a.m. on September 18 and all affected roads will fully reopen by 5:30 a.m. on September 24. To ease traffic congestion during peak hours, certain road corridors will temporarily reopen on four out of the seven days of closure. Motorists will also have limited access to the Marina Centre area through specific routes during selected hours on all seven days.
Public Transport Encouraged for Visitors
With significant road closures in place, the public and F1 ticket holders are strongly encouraged to use public transport when traveling to the Marina Centre and Padang areas during the event week.
Extended Train and Bus Services on Race Days
To accommodate the influx of visitors, train services, with the exception of the Bukit Panjang LRT and Changi Airport services, will be extended on race days from September 20 to 22. City Hall MRT station will remain open until 12:30 a.m. on September 20 and 21, and until 12:45 a.m. on September 22. Additionally, the operating hours of at least 37 bus services that connect to MRT stations will also be extended.
These measures aim to ensure smooth transportation and minimize disruption during the highly anticipated F1 race week in Singapore.
