Travellers heading to Malaysia through the land checkpoints at Tuas and Woodlands should prepare for heavy traffic leading up to and during the September school holidays, from August 30 to September 8.
ICA Advises Travellers to Plan for Delays
The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) has advised travellers to plan for additional waiting time if crossing the border between August 30 and September 8. To avoid potential delays, the ICA also suggested that travellers consider using cross-border bus services.
Checking Traffic Conditions Before Travelling
Motorists are encouraged to check the traffic situation at the checkpoints before setting out. This can be done via the Land Transport Authority’s One Motoring website or by using the Expressway Monitoring Advisory System, which provides real-time traffic updates along the Bukit Timah Expressway and Ayer Rajah Expressway.
Faster Clearance with QR Codes
For those travelling by car or motorcycle, using QR codes for immigration clearance instead of passports is recommended to expedite the process and reduce waiting times at the checkpoints.
