Al Jasra restaurant, located in Kembangan, has been suspended from operating for two weeks following food safety violations, the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) announced on Tuesday.
Suspension and Fine Imposed
The restaurant, situated at 459 Changi Road, will be closed from August 20 to September 2 due to the discovery of an infestation that led to the suspension of its operating license. In addition to the suspension, Al Jasra has been fined S$800 for the food safety lapses.
Mandatory Food Safety Retraining
As part of the corrective measures, all food handlers and hygiene officers employed at the suspended restaurant are required to reattend and successfully pass food safety courses before they can return to work. This step is intended to ensure that proper food safety practices are upheld once the restaurant resumes operations.
Emphasis on Maintaining Food Safety Standards
The SFA’s actions underscore the importance of maintaining strict food safety standards in Singapore’s food establishments. The agency continues to monitor compliance closely and take necessary enforcement actions to protect public health.
