Train services on Singapore’s Circle Line faced significant delays this Monday morning, April 29, due to a train fault. Commuters encountered disruptions starting around 6:09 AM, as announced by SMRT on their official Facebook page. The transport operator initially reported delays between Holland Village and Pasir Panjang stations, which later affected additional stations along the line.
Measures to Mitigate Disruption
To assist stranded commuters, SMRT announced that free regular bus services were made available from Paya Lebar station to HarbourFront station. Additionally, free bridging bus services were provided from Paya Lebar station to Buona Vista station. Commuters were advised to add approximately half an hour to their usual travel time due to the delays.
Communication to Passengers
Throughout the disruption, SMRT kept passengers informed with continuous in-train and station announcements. The situation lasted about two hours, impacting many morning commuters’ travel plans across the affected sectors of the Circle Line.
